We’ll beautify rain gardens and share the hidden histories rooted in this land.

Black Land + Liberation Day
In honor of Earth day, on Saturday, April 19, we hosted a powerful day of environmental learning, cultural storytelling, and creative reflection in Bed-Stuy and Weeksville!
As part of our Mapping Black History Project, we wove the threads between climate resilience and cultural heritage —highlighting how Black communities have always been stewards of land, memory, and liberation.
It was a powerful day. Stay tuned for upcoming events.
On Saturday August 10th, we created a Black Utopia in the heart of Brooklyn at the Flatbush African Burial Ground.
It was beautiful to see us lounging in hammocks, resting, sharing, dancing, painting. 🎨✨ We built altars to our ancestors, to visionary Black women, men, femmes… 🕯️ We reclaimed our space, our joy, and our future.
We nourished our souls and bodies with the best from @wadadlijerk , @bunnanbk , and @yawdieq 🍽️ We listened to 800 years of skill and technique in kora and balafon, as @salieususo sang songs our ancestors sang millennia ago. 🎶
We reclaimed playing in the dirt, resting, and cultivating seeds that we'll watch flourish next year. 🌱 Our journey is just beginning, and the roots we’ve planted will grow strong.
